Editor's Note: Darren Law, driver of the No. 44 Flying Lizzard Porsche in the American LeMans series is giving RacingWire readers an inside look his experience at the 2010 Petit LeMans. He'll be blogging through out the weekend so check in for his blog updates.
Hello from Road Atlanta!
I'm looking forward to sharing my Petit Le Mans race experience with you through RacingWire.info. This is a long event for everyone, from last weekend's private test through today's official test, then practice, night practice, qualifying and of, course, the 1000-mile or 10-hour race on Saturday.
We had a very good test with both cars last weekend. We've been here many times, so we were able to get the basics done in testing. Now we can focus on the race. The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid is sharing our tent, so it was interesting to watch during the test. It's heavier than our Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, but it has more horsepower, so the average lap times during the test were about the same as an RSR.
We had a couple of days to relax and play some golf; now it's back to work. We have a short test session today, then a long day tomorrow, ending with a two-hour night practice. Marco Holzer, who is a Porsche junior driver, is driving with Seth Neiman and me in the No. 44 Flying Lizard Porsche, so we'll make sure we all get our night laps and get comfortable with the car for the weekend.
I'll check back with you after qualifying. Be sure to follow us through the Flying Lizard blogs and radio at lizardms.com.
