The Reuters news agency is quoting Jose Maria Lopez's spokesperson Miguel Mattos as saying the agreement is in place for Lopez to drive for USF1 in 2010.  The deal is expected to be announced on Monday.

USF1 teased its fans on social networking sites with hints of a big announcement next week.

It's expected that Lopez is bringing a sponsorship deal that includes his home country Argentina's tourism bureau.

Lopez would fill one of two available USF1 seats.  Speculation about who will drive the second USF1 car has ranged from Canadian Jacques Villeneuve to Brit Jonathan Summerton.

USF1's plans to have an American in one of the cars for 2010 were quashed when it was determined that the few American drivers eligible for an FIA Super License weren't available or interested in the seat.
