DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Philip Creighton Motorsports, one of the original teams in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16, plans to make its return to the series in the 2010 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Team owner Phil Creighton and team manager Rossella Manfrinato had a brand-new Crawford-built Infiniti G Coupe on display in the paddock at the recent Grand Prix of Miami. The team hopes to have the car ready for the December test sessions at Daytona International Speedway.

Howard Law Motorsports ran a similar Crawford-built Infiniti in the 2007 Rolex 24, with a driver lineup including Joey Hand, Bryan Sellers and Rob Wilson. A new engine program from Paul Hasselgren utilising the reliable and mandatory Bosch electronic system should give reliability that the HLM team lacked.

The Alpharetta, Ga.-based team fielded a Sports Racing Prototype in GRAND-AM's inaugural 2000 season, with lead driver Scott Schubot very competitive in the debut of the Lola B210K. Schubot and Andy Wallace finished third at Mid-Ohio in the Ford-powered car, while Schubot and Oliver Gavin placed fourth at Miami. The team nearly won at Road America before Schubot and Butch Leitzinger encountered late-race problems.

Schubot, Duncan Dayton, John Burton and Rick Sutherland also competed for the Creighton in the 2001 Rolex 24, finishing eighth in SRP. More recently, the team tested a Mazda RX-8 under the Yellow Dragon Motorsports Banner.
