ALTON, Va. (November 1, 2010) – Kerrigan Smith, Synergy Racing acting General Manager, announced this week that he has accepted the position of Director of Track Operations with Virginia international Raceway (VIR). Synergy Racing owners Danny Marshall, Steve Marshall and Cole Scrogham want to congratulate Smith on his new role with VIR and thank him for his commitment to Synergy Racing during his five year tenure with the team.
Smith was instrumental in growing Synergy Racing’s Porsche 997 customer build program, which to date has produced 15 custom competition cars for an impressive list of clients. The program is an addition to the team’s experience building Porsches for the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series. It has grown to include the development of custom Porsche performance parts as well as both shop and trackside support for the program’s clientele.
Smith will remain with Synergy Racing on a part-time basis through the end of the year as he transitions into his new role with Virginia International Raceway.
"Synergy has always focused on providing the highest quality service possible for our customers and Kerrigan has been a standard bearer of our vision," Scrogham said. "We began our customer build program as an addition to our racing programs, and today the customer build business is our fastest growing division.”
Ken Grammer will return to Synergy Racing on the 1st of November to assume the daily operations of the team. Grammer was originally a member of the management staff during the 2004-2005 season which culminated in the team winning the 2005 Grand-Am Rolex GT Driver’s Championship.
"We are excited to have Ken rejoining Synergy. His past experience here will allow us to maintain a seamless operation for our customers,” Danny Marshall said. "Ken was a key member of our team when we started our customer build program, so he already shares our commitment to personal and professional integrity and will continue to provide the highest level of service to our customers."
