Editor's note: Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca's agreement with MotoGP extends through the 2014 season.

MONTEREY, Calif., April 12, 2011 – The following statement is attributable to Ms. Gill Campbell, CEO/General Manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The 54-year old road course is the current site of the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, featuring MotoGP World Championship, annually staging the World Championship class since 2005.

“Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca brought MotoGP to the United States in 2005 and we welcome the addition of a third venue in anticipation of expanding the World Championship to a broader audience. There’s no denying that our country’s and state’s economic condition the past two years has hindered attendance growth. I am hopeful that this expansion into a new demographic is a sign that fans and corporate sponsors are intensifying their support of the world’s best motorcycle racers.”

 2011 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix – July 22-24

The MotoGP World Championship returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with the rising stars of AMA Pro Racing Series for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix July 22-24. This year marks the seventh consecutive visit for MotoGP and AMA racing together in Monterey.

For tickets, hospitality packages and parking, visit MazdaRaceway.com or call 800-327-7322. Children under 12 are admitted free to general admission and paddock areas when accompanied by a paying adult.
