Richmond, Va. (RacingWire) – Could it be the home cookin'? Denny Hamlin won his second race in as many days at Richmond International Raceway.
Hamlin won the Bubba Burgers 250 Friday night, a day after he won his won his own charity late mode race.
There wasn't much of a challenge as Hamlin led 199 of the 250 laps.
The highlight of the race came on the restart with two laps to go. Paul Menard dove down on Hamlin entering turn two but the Chesterfield, Va native held off Menard for his first win of 2011.
“The last restart was wild for sure,” said Menard. I figured if I could get a fender on him I might have been able to get around the outside but he had a better start than me.”
Hamlin was confident on the last restart. “With so many cars laps down I knew we were in pretty good position as long as nothing went wrong,” said Hamlin.
Ryan Truex was the highest finishing rookie with a eighth place finish. It's the first top ten finish of his career.
The win was Hamlin's 11th in 125 Nationwide Series races.
Justin Algaier leaves Richmond leading the championship standings with a six point lead over second place Elliot Sadler.
