DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR has given Steve Wallace a slap on the wrist following a post-race brush up with Matt Kenseth at Memphis Motorsports Park Saturday. Wallace ran into Kenseth's car on pit lane following the checkered flag. Wallace was apparently upset after contact with Kenseth caused him to spin in the closing laps of the race.
Wallace was fined $5,000 and placed on probation until the end of the year. The fine was for violating Section 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing: Hitting another competitor’s car on pit road after the completion of the race) of the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series rule book.
