The V8 StockCar racers are ready for their first of two visits to Roebling Road in 2009, racing with the Buccaneer Region SCCA at their Jim Stark Memorial races. Roebling, a club racing jewel of a circuit located just twenty minutes outside of Savannah, Georgia has been around since 1959. The nine turn, 2.02 mile is challenging and fast, featuring a roller coaster backside that reward smoothness and patience and a long front straight where the fastest V8 racers can approach 170 mph. While certainly a challenge, racers also consider Roebling a safe track to race on with generous runoff areas. Racers from Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, Vermont and others are expected. 2008 V8 GT-1 champ, Dave Machavern will be on hand, with Bill Smith, Ray Webb, Dave Greer, Wayne Cabaniss, Mark Davis and others to challenge him and his Tommy Riggins built and prepped
